Rules For All Users
1: Do not contact the administration for help with your MU*/MOO, IRC Bots, Bouncers or Website coding problems.
Unless
there is something wrong with your account, like being unable to access your files or connectivity issues, please seek
your answers out on the Internet and/or from your staff.
2: Do not attempt to recruit users for your MU*/MOO, IRC programs or Website from any other users or
their users on this server. Failure to abide by this rule will result in immediate corrective action up to deletion.
3: Do not abuse your account here. You are here on your own honor, so failure to use your account for it's
intended purpose will result in reprimand up to deletion.
4: Do not abuse your bandwidth allowance here. This includes, but is not limited to, idle ftp or shell sessions,
staying logged in when not using your account, and large/abusive data transfers.
5: You will only use the ports assigned to you. If you are found intentionally using ports not assigned to you,
then your account will be frozen and action will be taken with the possiblity of deletion.
6: If you are a current active user with a free account, then you must include a text/graphical banner/linkback
to the servers website on your website, and in the MOTD of your MU*/MOO. This encourages growth of the community.
7: You must keep tabs on your processes at all times. If they exceed your Memory/CPU limitations then I will
kill the process without informing you. If your processes consistantly exceed your limits, then I will freeze your
account and contact you. If you fail to correct the problem, I may possibly remove your account.
8: I do not ask to be an immortal, admin or superuser on your MU*/MOO or bots/bouncers. Please treat me just as you would another
user of your services. Promoting me to a higher position on your services is purely at your own discretion.
9: I am leniant of new admins, and I will try to help you however I can, but if you have
any doubts about what you're doing, please consult a linux tutorial. Often times, you can
find plenty of guides to Linux and MUD administrivia on the internet. New admins generally
don't know how to keep tabs on a process, and often times will start the process, see that it gets
stuck into a loop, panic, and log out, leaving the process to fill up the entire drive and overrun the processor.
You don't have to be experienced to be hosted here, but at least look up a few things before you apply.
Guides to common issues, and even a few tutorials can be found on the Internet, or on Forums.
10: Please do not bother me on my instant messengers with matters you can solve on your own. I try to avoid
overly personal relationships with my users, with the exception of friendly chatter. I discourage trying to build
favoritism as this may cause a conflict of interest.
11: You are responsible for the users of your services. Any malicious action that they take, you WILL be held
responsible for. Do not give my contact information to users of your services for troubleshooting problems. You are who
they should contact in the event of problems.
12: If you share your shell login information with other individuals then you, the account holder, are
responsible for their actions. If they make a mistake, or perform malicious activity, then YOU will be held responsible.
Only give your login information to trusted staff and they MUST read and agree to the Rules and Terms of Service before
accessing the shell.
13: I am not available 24 hours a day. I work a fulltime job and respond to user inquiries when I can. Please do
not expect an immediate response, but I will try my best to get back to you within a reasonable timeframe.
14: You will abide by the Terms of Service at all times. FrostMUD.Com will seek legal action against any user or
user of your services who violates any of the Rules or Terms of Service.
15: You may only contact the staff via E-Mail or Instant Messaging with questions about your account or the
server. Annoying the staff WILL result in the deletion of your account.
